This is a great, quiet place to stay on a very nice part of the Cape. Clean, fresh, understated rooms on lovely grounds. Our room had a little porch. Very relaxing. Good continental breakfast. Convenient location near Sandwich restaurants, shopping centers, beaches, marina, etc.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

We stayed in the room 32. We were very uncomfortable. The only chairs to sit in were the kitchen chairs. You really need to put some chairs to sit it. I know there is not much room for them but I am sure you could come up with something. We were so uncomfortable Friday night we decided not to stay Saturday night and drive home even though we had paid for the night. We checked out at 4:00. Also didn’t like being in the basement. When we entered the room it was very musty smelling. The dehumidifier should be kept on. Once it ran for several hours the smell went away. Because of the heavy rain Saturday it was flooded in front of our door when we came back.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

It would have been nice to find a well cleaned table for breakfast. I think they were not cleaned within the week we stayed there. Every morning they were sticky. Also the litter bins have been full all the time. We always had an early breakfast at about 8:00 a.m.

The rooms have not been cleaned properly. I had to clean the mirror and the shelfs obove the sink by myself every day. Also the floor was not cleaned in the corners. Nobody wiped the dust in the room during our stay. Nevertheless we put one dollar for the maids on each pillow every day.

There was no safe provided, which would it make possible, to keep the items inside our own privacy. Why should I use a safe if I will be asked to make a list of the items to put in? I also worry about the safety of my items if two other people know the code. It should be possible to provide safes with keys.

Definitely a change from the chain hotels. The grounds are very pretty and loved having the porch outside the room and car parking at front door. Would stay again. Our daughter just moved to the area so we need a place to stay when visiting her.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay. We were in room 24. Peaceful surroundings. Our only issue was the breakfast. You could tell that the fruit was added to the bowl with yesterdays leftovers still in it. There was a lack of silverware and the tables weren't wiped down between guests. Also if people are staying a number of days your menu should very more.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

We were there for 4 nights in #24 I think. The breakfast experience was very uneven. Decent selection of food but frequently out and had to request restocks. Fruit bowl appeared to be recycled from day to day. Shortage of clean metal utensils and had to self substitute plastic. Really liked the grounds and the turkeys. Rooms were very clean. Will stay again! Overall a very good experience. Get more organized at breakfast and you should be good to go!

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

It really was a lovely place. Just a few things in our room that I was surprised at. I couldn't find a garbage can in the kitchen area, I noticed my feet got really dirty walking barefoot on those floors, and the bed didn't have a top sheet on it. It was just the comforter which to me was very odd. I like to sleep with just a sheet on and not heavy covers.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

Put a top sheet on the bed and mop floors a bit more

ROOM # 23 HAD AN ODOR OF MOLD THAT BOTHERED MY WIFE, OTHER THAN THAT WE ENJOYED OUR STAY VERY MUCH. I THINK YOUR BREAKFAST SPREAD FAR EXCEDED THE BREAKFAST AT THE DANIEL WEBSTER INN , THEIR EGGS,BACON,SAUSAGE AND COFFEE WERE ALL LUKE WARM OR COLD ,AND IT WAS A MEAL THAT THE BRIDE AND GROOM WERE PAYING FOR !!

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

2 THINGS, A 12 INCH GRAB BAR JUST OUTSIDE THE SHOWER AREA FOR US OLD FOLK, AND A TOILET PLUNGER IN THE BATHROOM, WE DID HAVE AN ISSUE ON THE LAST DAY, CHEAP INSURANCE .
