We had to come to the Cape recently to attend an event in Hyannis (about 20 minutes away) and decided to spend a few days in Sandwich, and area where we’ve never really explored before. The Inn’s ‘suite’ room with two double beds and a small kitchenette seemed like a good option, as there was a possibility our son might be coming for a night or two. Our stay in Room 21 was very quiet—we never heard any noise from adjacent units, and the air conditioning unit was far quieter than similar units we’ve encountered elsewhere. Even on high speed, the fan was not overly noisy, and the unit ran constantly as we managed to stay during a heat wave. There was also a somewhat louder wall-mounted fan, which we only used a couple of times. As the bath is off a closet/dressing area (which also holds a small refrigerator and microwave) sleepers are not disturbed by those getting up to use the bathroom.

The Sandwich Boardwalk is definitely worth a visit; it’s a beautiful place and nice to explore for a couple of hours. The beach is pretty rocky, so water shoes would be a good idea. Parking in summer is $20 during the day (starting at 9am—not sure if the lot is open before then, though), and we were advised that the tag could be used at other beach areas in town on the same day. We went on a Friday and there were plenty of places to park; the boardwalk also connects to the Town Beach lot.

On Sunday we noticed a fair amount of traffic headed west on 6A toward the bridges during the late morning when we were heading east, and when we came back later that night (around 9:30pm), so it’s something to be aware of. We in the late morning on a Monday and had no problems.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

Rooms need better door mats both inside and outside. Table lamps in our room were about to fall apart. One light bulb over sink kept blinking off and on so I switched it for one of the table lamp bulbs. Top drawer on the chest of drawers wouldn’t stay in. Parking was sometimes a pain because there isn’t enough spaces for all of the rooms and there was a group that was next to us that were staying in the same room and they had two vehicles. The concrete ( porch/ stoop/ whatever ) needs to be swept off daily. I asked if i could borrow a broom so that I could do that and was told that someone would be sent over to do it. I don’t think it ever got done. This is the third time we have stayed here and we do like the place over all, just needs some tweaking.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

It would be great if there were a gluten-free cereal option—maybe Cheerios rather than Special K, which does seem to have gluten. Thanks!

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

Everything was great, and the map of the area was very helpful. We had dinner the first night at the British Beer Company down the road on Route 6A, which was very good with plenty of options for vegetarian/gluten-free/non-seafood (allergy) experiences. I don’t think they are on on your list, so you may want to consider adding them. Thanks!

POSITIVE:

We booked 2 rooms 9 months ago asking for rooms nearby and ended up in 2 separate buildings, shame!

Loved staying here. The property is beautiful, quiet, and just lovely. Staff is kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Comfy bed, with warm bedding. Room had a mounted fan which was awesome. There was even a balcony on the room we stayed in. Definitely recommend staying here and plan to visit again.

I stayed here for one night with my husband and three kids. We we’re very pleased with the room. It was spacious, completely updated, clean, and had everything including a microwave and fridge. The Only complaint is that the website said there were gluten free cereal options and fruit for breakfast and there were not.
